The Arab Civil Aviation Organization (ACAO), headed by H.E. Eng. Khalid  Cherkaoui, Director General of ACAO, participated in the second edition of the Egypt International Airshow and Space 2026 (EIAS 2026), held at El Alamein International Airport in the Arab Republic of Egypt from 8 to 10 September 2026.

The participation of ACAO in this major international event reflects the Organization’s commitment to strengthening the presence of Arab civil aviation in specialized international forums, fostering regional and international cooperation, and supporting the exchange of expertise and knowledge across the aviation sector. It also provides an important opportunity to follow the latest developments, technologies and innovations shaping the future of civil aviation and aerospace.

The second edition of the exhibition was inaugurated on 8 September 2026 under the patronage of H.E. Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, in the presence of senior government officials, military and civil aviation leaders, representatives of participating countries and international organizations, as well as leading companies from the aviation, aerospace, defence and technology sectors.

The event has further consolidated its position as a prominent international platform bringing together decision-makers, aviation and aerospace industry leaders, experts and specialized institutions from across the region and around the world. The exhibition provides a valuable platform for showcasing advanced technologies, exchanging expertise and exploring emerging opportunities in aviation and aerospace.

The second edition brought together more than 250 exhibitors from 50 countries, with the participation of more than 100 aircraft and over 50 air shows, while attracting approximately 12,000 visitors and participants. The event featured a broad representation of international and regional organizations, aviation authorities, manufacturers and specialized companies operating across the aviation, aerospace, defence and advanced technology sectors.

ACAO’s participation provided an important opportunity to strengthen communication with regional and international aviation organizations, civil aviation authorities and specialized institutions and companies, while facilitating the exchange of views and experiences on developments affecting the future of the aviation sector.

The exhibition also offered an opportunity to follow developments in a number of priority areas, including digital transformation, innovation and emerging technologies, aviation safety and security, airport infrastructure development, sustainability, human capital development and the efficiency of air transport systems.

In this context, ACAO reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing Arab cooperation and coordination in civil aviation, representing the common interests of its Member States in international forums, and supporting the exchange of knowledge, expertise and best practices in line with international developments and standards.

ACAO’s participation also comes at a time of rapid transformation in the global aviation sector, presenting both new opportunities and challenges for Arab States. These developments underscore the importance of strengthening regional coordination and cooperation and promoting joint approaches in areas of common interest, with a view to enhancing the competitiveness, resilience and sustainability of Arab civil aviation.

The Arab Civil Aviation Organization looks forward to building on its participation in EIAS 2026 and further strengthening its engagement with regional and international partners, while continuing to promote the exchange of expertise and knowledge and support the development of civil aviation in the Arab region.
Through such participation, ACAO continues to contribute to advancing Arab cooperation and integration in civil aviation and strengthening the role of the Arab aviation sector within the international aviation community.
