Royal Air Maroc transfers its flights to the new terminal building at Mohammed V airport


Royal Air Maroc (RAM) is preparing to transfer its flights departing from Casablanca to the new terminal building 1 at Mohammed V International Airport, which was inaugurated by King Mohammed VI. This transfer is part of the ongoing development of the national airline, which will provide it with the necessary capacity to operate smoothly its flights.


The new terminal building will be fully dedicated to Royal Air Maroc and some of its partner airlines, noting that all its international and domestic flights will operate from the same terminal.


According to Royal Air Maroc, the flights will be gradually transferred to the new terminal, and starting from Saturday January 26, the terminal will receive passengers traveling to Paris.


Two weeks later, all flights to France will be operating in the new Terminal building 1, while destinations to Africa will be launched by the end of next February, announcing that the full transfer of flights will take place by the end of March.


The new Terminal building 1 has an additional capacity of 115% at check in, an additional 80% for boarding and 50% more for transit, which will significantly increase passengers´ pre-boarding capacity.


The new terminal building will also be equipped with a new self-check in systems, with 30 self-check in booths and 12 automatic luggage carriers, allowing passengers to check in independently from start to finish, including check in , seat selection, boarding passes issuance, Check in baggage and baggage receipt issuance.


Thanks to this great project of Royal Air Maroc, Mohamed V airport "will become the first airport in Africa to offer a complete self-check -in service to reduce passengers´ waiting time".
