On the sidelines of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization's (ACAO) participation in the 35th Ordinary Session of the Committee of Organizations for Coordination and Follow-up, a subsidiary body of the Economic and Social Council of the League of Arab States, H.E. Eng. Khalid CHERKAOUI, Director General of ACAO, held a meeting with H.E. Sameh Mohamed Fawzy, President of the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority (ECAA), at the Authority's headquarters in Cairo.

At the outset of the meeting, H.E. Sameh Fawzy extended his sincere congratulations to H.E. Eng. CHERKAOUI on the confidence placed in him by the General Assembly of ACAO through his appointment as Director General of the Organization. He wished him every success in his new responsibilities, expressing confidence that his extensive professional and managerial experience would contribute to further strengthening the Organization and enhancing its role in serving the Arab civil aviation sector.

For his part, H.E. Eng. Khalid CHERKAOUI expressed his sincere appreciation to H.E. Sameh Fawzy for the warm welcome and kind congratulations. He also affirmed his pride in the longstanding and distinguished relations between ACAO and the Arab Republic of Egypt, highlighting Egypt's pivotal role in supporting joint Arab action, particularly in the field of civil aviation.

The meeting reviewed avenues for strengthening cooperation between ACAO and the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority, and included an exchange of views on a number of issues of mutual interest, foremost among them the development of the Arab civil aviation system, the enhancement of technical cooperation and capacity building, and support for initiatives aimed at keeping pace with the rapid developments taking place in the regional and international civil aviation sectors.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining close coordination and cooperation in pursuit of the objectives of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization, promoting greater Arab integration in the field of civil aviation, and contributing to the enhancement of aviation safety, security, and the efficiency of air transport services across the Arab region.
