The Civil Aviation Authority of the Sultanate of Oman hosted the twenty-ninth meeting of the Environment Committee, held in the city of Muscat from 26 to 28 November 2025, with the participation of 11 environment officials representing 6 member states of the organization.
In his welcoming address to the participating delegations, His Excellency Engineer Naif bin Ali Al-Obri, President of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Sultanate of Oman, emphasized the strategic importance of environmental protection issues at the Arab level and the necessity of enhancing Arab cooperation in this field.
The committee members discussed the latest developments related to environmental protection in the field of civil aviation at the Arab and regional levels, particularly the challenges and difficulties facing Arab countries, especially with regard to aviation fuel, carbon emissions offset programs, and their traders.
The committee also adopted the work program and priorities for 2026, based on the outcomes of the ICAO General Assembly, along with capacity-building activities for the benefit of member states.
