in the framework of the capacity building project, ACAO & ICAO organised jointly the in-person “Dangerous Goods” Workshop, back-to-back with the “Ground Handling” Workshop in Rabat, Morocco respectively the 12-13, & 14-15 December 2022.

This DG Workshop provided a foundation for establishing and maintaining a dangerous goods oversight Programme through application of provisions in Annex 18 and the Technical Instructions. In addition, the participants have been given the knowledge and skills to evaluate operator dangerous goods Programmes and to conduct dangerous goods-related inspections. The participants seize this opportunity to discuss the challenges and best practices related to Dangerous Goods (DG) Implementation mainly the FAA processes and applied tools.

The Ground Handling Workshop focused on the Ground Handling awareness for High Level Management and the SMS Interfaces of key stakeholders with Ground Handling Service Providers. Additionally, the participants have been given technical guidelines on the Oversight Programmes applied to the Ground Handling Service Providers as per the mechanisms applied by the ICAO Key partners supporting the workshops including ACI, ASA, IATA, IBAC.

26 and 28 participants attended respectively the DG & GH workshops from 6 ACAO member States with the participation of speakers from ICAO, ACI, ASA, IATA, IBAC, and FAA.
