Rabat - ACAO´s Civil Aviation Security Committee held its 31st meeting on May 18-19, 2020 via teleconference using "Zoom" facility.
This meeting, registered the participation of 12 member states of the organization, whereas it took place in light of the difficult circumstances experienced by the Arab region, and more specifically the civil aviation sector, due to the outbreak of the Corona pandemic. The participants discussed the latest developments and measures taken by the organization within the framework of coordinating Arab efforts and ensuring coordination with international and regional organizations to limit the spread of the Corona virus (COVID-19). They also reviewed the preventive measures and basic requirements implemented by member states of the organization to face its spread, and discussed measures related to civil aviation security upon the return to normal of civil aviation operations.
In the same vein and under these circumstances, participants agreed to establish a work program, communication and permanent coordination among civil aviation security officials of the Arab region, and to hold outreach meetings to exchange information, experiences and best practices to resume normal civil aviation operations.
The committee also approved, during its meeting, the aviation security activities of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization for the year 2022-2021.
