Dakar - The Arab Civil Aviation Organization (ACAO) participated in the activities of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the African Civil Aviation Commission and the twentieth anniversary of the Yamoussoukro resolutions, which were held on 13th and 14th November 2019 in the Senegalese capital Dakar.
Engineer Abdenbi Manar, Director General of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization, attended this event. It was an opportunity to take stock of the accomplishments of this committee and its future programs, especially as the African Union entrusted it with the implementation of the Yamoussoukro´s decisions to achieve the African air transport market´s integration.
The Director General made a presentation in which he acknowledged coordination and cooperation with the African Aviation Commission, recalling the activities carried out in this framework and the importance of the role of regional organizations in supporting international air transport activity, especially as these blocs represent 75% of International Civil Aviation Organization´s Member States. The second day of the event was devoted to several presentations that formed a ground for discussions aimed at mobilizing the efforts of African countries in order to optimize the implementation of the Yamoussoukro´s decisions and the African Unified Air Transport Market, due to the importance of their effects on their economies.
