Cairo - Within the framework of improving civil aviation activities coordination within the region and unifying efforts to enhance safety, absorptive capacity, navigation and safety efficiency and upgrading the level of coordination and continuous cooperation with civil aviation authorities and air navigation service providers, ACAO and ICAO organized a workshop on " Airport-Cooperative Decision Making (A-CDM) ´´ at the International Civil Aviation Organization Regional Office for the Middle East of, Cairo, Egypt, 20-22 October 2019.

HE Mohamed Khalifa Rahma, Regional Director, ICAO MID Regional Office (ICAO MID) opened the workshop. He welcomed all participants, highlighting the importance of this workshop in raising the level of civil aviation personnel, especially those working in the field of airports. He also stressed the necessary commitment and cooperation with similar regional and international organizations in the region to overcome the challenges in various areas of civil aviation in order to achieve the performance targets agreed in the Global Navigation Plan.

For his part, Eng. Mohamed Rejeb, representative of the Arab Organization, in a speech on behalf of His Excellency Eng. Abdenbi Manar Director General of the Organization, welcomed the participants and thanked ICAO for its generous hosting and fruitful joint cooperation hosting with the Arab Civil Aviation Organization.

The workshop, which was attended by seventy-eight (78) participants from (7) countries and five (5) international and regional organizations, aims to improve the efficiency and flexibility of airport operations, especially aircraft rotations before departure through rational use of resources and improve predictability of air traffic. By encouraging airport partners, airport operators, aircraft operators, ground handling, air traffic control departments and air traffic management to work in a more transparent and collaborative way and timely and accurate exchange of relevant information.
