Beirut - The Arab Civil Aviation Organization (AACO) took part to the meetings of the 48th session of the High Coordination Committee for Joint Arab Action, chaired by His Excellency Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary General of the Arab League, from 19 to 20 June 2019, Beirut, Lebanon.
The session began with the meeting of the Technical Committee to discuss the agenda items at the expert level, during which the recommendations were adopted and presented to the work of the 48th Session of the High Coordination Committee for Joint Arab Action, held this year and entitled "The role of Arab labor institutions in achieving 2030 development goals in the Arab Region".
The participants discussed a number of important topics, counting areas of cooperation and mechanism proposed for coordination between the Joint Arab Labor institutions to achieve the goals of sustainable development 2030 in the Arab region, as well as cooperation in the field of research development dealing with the core issues affecting the Arab economy and integration issues in various economic sectors, including coordination mechanism between Joint Arab labor Organization and the Arab League missions.
The meeting also discussed the periodic item entitled "Cooperation between the Arab League and its specialized organizations, the United Nations and its Specialized Agencies". The Committee reviewed the results of the Second Media Conference to promote the achievements and activities of the Joint Arab Labor Organization, held in Tunis from March 24 to 26, as well as the conclusions and recommendations of the workshop on "the presentation of the system for the use and protection of the name and logo of the Arab League", held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League last February.
In the same context, the requests of some specialized Arab federations to obtain observer status in the committee were presented, including the Union of Arab Universities and the Arab Federation for the Development of Industrial Exports.
The topics presented by the Joint Arab labor organization, including the Arab Civil Aviation Organization (ACAO), related to supporting the organization of the Arab Civil Aviation Award, the Arab Civil Aviation Week and the Arab Air Day were discussed, in addition to the agenda item related to cooperation between the Arab Civil Aviation Organization and the regional organizations and bodies.
In addition, a number of memorandums of understanding were signed on the sidelines of the meetings of the High Coordinating Committee for Joint Arab Action, including a memorandum of understanding between the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport represented by the Arab Institute for Trade and Commodity Exchanges, the College of International Transport and Logistics and the Union of Arab Chambers in Training, Logistics and service provision for entrepreneurs and small investors. A cooperation agreement was also signed between the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, the Union of Arab Chambers and UNIDO - Bahrain to organize an Arab Entrepreneurs´ Rally.
Furthermore, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Union of Arab Chambers and UNIDO - Bahrain to organize the 3rd Global Entrepreneur Forum to be held in Bahrain in coordination with the Arab Businessmen and Investors Conference.
