The forty-ninth meeting of the Air Transport Committee was held at the headquarters of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization, with the participation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; the Republic of Iraq; Sultanate of Oman ; Kuwait ; The Arab Republic of Egypt and the Kingdom of Morocco, and representatives of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan; The People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, the Mauritanian Republic, the Republic of Yemen, the International Air Transport Association, and the Arab Air Carriers' Association were also present as observers.

The meeting was opened by His Excellency Eng. Abdennebi  Manar, Director General of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization. His Excellency welcomed the representatives of the member states present and praised the importance and role of the Air Transport Committee and its work in the field of civil aviation industry. He wished to the participants a successful meeting, in order to  achieve its goal, and contributes to the development of air transport in the Arab countries.

For his part, Dr. Mohamed Jawdat, Vice-Chairman of the Committee and Acting Chairman of the meeting, welcomed the attendees and wished them success in the work of the meeting. Also, Mr. Khaled Antar, the organization’s air transport expert, welcomed the attendees and thanked them for their work papers and topics for discussion that benefit the transport industry. air in the Arab countries.

The meeting discussed several topics, including:

The decisions of the Arab Ministers of Transport  Council at its 35th session;

the agreement on the exchange of exemptions from taxes and customs duties on the activities and equipment of the Arab air carrier;

Keeping pace with the local legislative systems to liberalize air transport and the sustainability of air transport, and its impact on the development sustainability.
