The Arab Civil Aviation Organization issued the 48th issue of September 2022 of the "Arab Aviation" magazine in both Arabic and English, rich and varied in its contents.

 

The editorial of His Excellency Eng. Abdennebi Manar, Director General of the Organization, touched on the remarkable rise in air transport during the past summer, in various parts of the world, which included most of the airlines that characterized the air transport network before the Covid 19 pandemic, and commercial air transport companies raised The number of seats offered to exceed 83% of the global average for the 2019 offer, after the percentage of passengers reached 72% during the first half of this year, which resulted in a decrease in passengers revenues to less than 45 million US dollars compared to what was achieved in 2019, which is a remarkable improvement considering To the total loss recorded in 2020-2021, which is estimated, respectively, at more than 323 million and 372 million US dollars, and it is expected that this loss will not exceed 165 billion dollars.

 

Mr. Attia ben Saeed Al-Zahrani wrote an article entitled: “Electronic Security and Its Impact on the Civil Aviation Industry,” in which he said that countries and organizations sensed the increase in cybersecurity in the field of aviation, and predicted an increase in attacks on the cyber system of air navigation, because we live in the era of smart technology, computers and the Internet. In various areas of life, and due to the importance and sensitivity of the civil aviation sector, the interest of states in it has increased in terms of protecting it from all dangers and threats that may affect its security and safety, so the so-called cyber security or electronic security was established, which is a set of tools, policies, security guarantees, guidelines and risk management approaches To protect organizational assets from cyber threats, In light of this, specialized international, regional and national bodies have been established considering that cybersecurity and aviation are cross-border activities and that an international framework must be established in light of which coordination will be made on how to address and protect this sector from cyber threats or crimes, especially after the technological boom that occurred in information and communication, which This led to the emergence of these serious threats to the security and safety of aviation in the world, the most prominent example of which is the cyber-attack on Odessa airport in Ukraine in 2017, which was considered an indication of a new stage of risks, begging the attention of workers in the field to work on developing a mechanism for securing systems technology for the airports themselves.

 

The new issue also included the schedule of the organization's training, workshops and symposia during the last three months of 2022, which was included in the forefront of the issue, the organization's activities from July to September 2022 and a number of other reports and articles.
