Rabat - The Arab Civil Aviation Organization organized, from February 21 to 23 and from 28 february to 2nd March, 2022, a training course on quality standards related to the environment and gas emissions (ISO 14064,14069,14001), via videoconference. Forty-two officials in charge of environmental protection within civil aviation authorities , airport authorities, airlines, and ground handling companies in the Arab region, representing 13 member states of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization participated to this training course.
The course falls within the framework of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization's contribution to the wide-ranging efforts and measures undertaken by the International Civil Aviation Organization and Member States to raise awareness on environment and aviation.
During his opening speech to this workshop, His Excellency Eng. Abdennebi Manar, Director General of the Organization, called for the need to launch a debate on the challenges and difficulties faced by Arab countries in order to implement the environmental management system, and to build up an approach based on control, monitoring, reporting and verification, including the conduct of internal audits of environmental management systems.
In this regard, he expressed the readiness of the general administration of the organization, in coordination with experts of Arab countries, specialized companies, and international and regional bodies, to develop a package of training programs and raise awareness in the field of environment, and to prepare trainers specialized in environmental protection within the Arab region.
This course, which was organized by skilled trainers of a company specialized in studies, training, advisory services and auditing in relation to quality and performance standards aimed to:
- Explain the guidelines of international standards related to environmental management and carbon emission inventory according to "ISO 14064,14069,14001",
- simplify the conduct of internal audits of environmental management systems, inventory direct and indirect emissions, and approaches to control, monitoring, reporting and verification,
- Explain how to establish operational systems to protect the environment.
