Mr Andrew W Haas

Desk Officer Team Lead, International Operations, Transportation Security Administration
 

Mr. Haas has over 18 years of experience in physical security operations, installation security procedures, Protection Level resource security, personnel security, administration duties, contract support, dignitary protection, and counterterrorism operations.� He joined International Operations in the fall of 2018 as a Desk Officer for the Middle East and Africa.

Prior to joining International Operations, Mr. Haas worked for TSA�s Executive Assistant Administrator for Operations Support as the Counterterrorism Operations and Planning Officer as the primary facilitator for the TSA crisis action planning group, the Threat Response Group (TRG).� The TRG is a group that meets with TSA operational offices to review, evaluate, and analyze current, specific threat intelligence and information and develop policy, security, and regulatory options and countermeasures for TSA Senior Leadership to implement before or during unprecedented or recurrent aviation security crises.

From 2008-2010 he served in the United States Air Force as the Non-Commissioned-Officer-in-Charge (NCOIC) of the Protective Services Section of the 316th Security Forces Squadron at Andrews Air Force Base.� As the NCOIC he planned and led security details supporting the President of the United States (POTUS), Vice-President of the United States (VPOTUS), Secretary of Defense (SECDEF), Secretary of State (SECSTATE), National Security Advisor, Director of Homeland Security, First Lady of the United States (FLOTUS), any previous Presidents, and other domestic and international leaders or Heads of State as directed by USAF Office of Protocol.

In 2007 Mr. Haas deployed to Basra Governate, Iraq in support of the 18th Airborne Military Police Brigade and conducted security patrols and internment facility operations over the course of the deployment.

After graduating high school, Mr. Haas joined the United States Air Force in 2004 and was assigned to provide security for Protection Level One (PL1) resources at F.E. Warren Air Force Base, Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Mr. Haas graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University in 2017, and received a Bachelor�s degree in Liberal Studies where he focused on military strategy, world religions, and foreign affairs.� When he is not at work he can be found in the outdoors hunting and fishing, spending time with his family and friends, and cheering on the Phillies, Eagles, and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
