Interregional Seminar on "Innovation & Cyber-Security".

The European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC), as the implementing body of the European Union-funded CASE II Project, together with the Arab Civil Aviation Organization (ACAO), the African Civil Aviation Commission (AFCAC) and the US Transportation Security Administration (TSA), and with the support of the Moroccan Ministry of Transport and Logistics (Directorate General of Civil Aviation), organize the second interregional seminar on “Innovation and Cybersecurity”, from 5 to 7 September 2022 In Marrakesh.


The main objectives of this seminar are to:

  • review existing risks and mitigation measures in relation to cyber security;
  • review industry practices in managing cyber risks to their operations and assets;
  • discuss the impact of innovation on aviation security; and
  • review recent innovative solutions in the field of aviation security.

Session 5: Cyber Threat and Risks in Air Navigation Systems, Vulnerabilities and Global Security of the ANS/ATM System

ANS/ATM systems moves towards introducing more and more digitalization thanks to new technologies and concepts using non-aviation specific means (e.g. 5G, satellite communications and navigation). This will inevitably increase the number of aviation actors potentially impacted by a cyber attack.
This session will discuss the ways making aviation systems/services progressively more and more cyber-resilient, flexible and sustainable while remaining safe and cost-efficient.
